The Europerio 5 congress was held at the IFEMA convention centre, just outside Madrid. The congress had almost 6000 registered delegates. Astra Tech was one of the Platinum Sponsors and we had a two hour symposium; The Astra Tech Platinum Sponsor Course, entitled 'Solid Foundation for Clinical Success'.
It was a very popular symposium during the congress. Professor Jan Lindhe moderated lectures by Professor Tomas Albrektsson, Professor Lyndon Cooper, Doctor L Antonio Aguirre Zorzano and Doctor J Tojo Alonso.
Popular workshops
The Astra Tech workshop programme included clinical photo sessions with Doctor Tony Newton, who also presented the updated Astra Tech Dental photo manual. The osteotome technique sessions were presented by Professor Lars Rasmusson, together with a workshop where the participants could try the technique on special models.
In the speakers corner, Professor Jan Wennström, Professor Jan Lindhe, and Professor N P Lang lectured Thursday, Friday and Saturday respectively. All these sessions were very popular and we had many positive comments from the audience. We also had several highly qualified Spanish doctors lecturing in the booth during these days, which was very well received by the Spanish participants.
At the end of each day we hosted an “After-Lecture with Astra Tech” in the booth with food, refreshments and entertainment.
Astra Tech Fun Run
On Friday morning the Astra Tech Fun Run took place in the Parque Ferial Juan Carlos I. The run had almost 100 registered participants who all received an Astra Tech T-shirt and towel. The runners competed honourably and the winners were announced on Friday evening. The result list can be found by clicking the link below.
