Today there is a constant pressure to reduce the use of PVC in products. This is mainly because PVC includes chlorine and plasticisers which have a negative impact on the environment.

Chlorine is a contributor in the production of acid rain and there is currently a debate going on concerning the effects of softeners on the human body.

We have been working for many years to come up with a solution to this problem without jeopardizing the well-being of our patients. This has been achieved with our PVC-free catheter, LoFric Plus.

LoFric Plus is made of PEBA, a PVC-free plastic made without chlorine or plasticisers, it does not release any toxins during manufacture, incineration or disposal. This makes LoFric Plus a better alternative for the environment.

Additionally the outer layer combined with the softer and more flexible plastic results in an even greater ability to attract water, making catheterisation even more convenient for users.
