When you want to inform relatives, or family friends about your child’s catheterisation it is a useful approach to explain the causes of urinary tract problems and how these problems affect your child’s everyday life.
If someone other than yourself is going to insert a catheter in your child, you should give them a printout of the instructions of how catheterisation is performed, and also show them yourself, ensuring they are confident to perform this treatment before allowing them to do it unsupervised.
