Unique Urotonic™ Surface Technology
Every LoFric catheter is a low-friction hydrophilic catheter with Urotonic™ Surface Technology, a unique surface layer that makes the coating isotonic to urine, resulting in a catheter which is extremely gentle and comfortable to use.
When the surface layer is activated by water it creates a slippery surface which is maintained throughout the whole catheterisation process. LoFric reduces friction against the urethra during catheterisation by 90-95% compared to traditional catheters used with gel.
Tried and Tested
LoFric is the most tried, tested and documented hydrophilic catheter and is the only catheter to have independent long-term clinical evidence (over more than ten years) to support its use. These studies prove that LoFric catheters are safe to use long-term and reduce the risk of complications such as urethral strictures, pain and damage to the urethra over time.
Hygiene
LoFric Primo and LoFric Hydro-Kit II catheters have integrated handling aids, which means there is no contact between the hands and the catheter during use. This makes for a more hygienic process and reduces the risk of contamination, which could lead to infection.
Water Supply
LoFric Primo and LoFric Hydro-Kit II also contain a sterile water supply which is integrated into the packaging, using these products means you don’t have to worry about bacterial contamination from the water supply, important if you’re travelling abroad. The integrated water sachet also means discreet catheterisation if you have to use public toilets, at work for example.
Discreet
LoFric Primo and LoFric Hydro-Kit II are foldable and packaged so they are small, flexible and discreet. They contain a separately packaged water sachet, making for discreet catheterisation in public toilets. These catheters can be carried in a purse, pocket or bag, without anyone else realising.
