What Treatments are Available?
Different treatments are explored by the doctor and patient. In the case of mild troubles, it is often enough to just wait and monitor the patient’s progress.
In the case of mild to moderate trouble, oral medication may suffice. Other options include heat treatment. In the case of more serious cases, or complete blockage surgery may be required.
For medical or other reasons it might be necessary to insert an indwelling catheter. Ideally, Intermittent Self-Catheterisation (ISC), would be used as a method that avoids several of the complications associated with indwelling catheters.
