Since 1948
Our history goes back to 1948, and is filled with innovations that enhance the quality of life. Ever since, we have monitored developments within medical care closely. Today we carry a growing range of products, and a technically advanced production facility.

Innovation
Astra Tech is an innovation-driven company. We are often the first to introduce a new type of technique or product. A good example is LoFric - the hydrophilic catheter that we launched in 1983. LoFric is still the market leader.

Other examples of important innovations from Astra Tech are in the area of dental implants. One example is OsseoSpeed™, with a fluoride-treated surface that generates bone more quickly and so speeds up the healing phase. 

Within surgery, we have a similar high rate of development. The emphasis is on developing products like Bellovac ABT that contribute to a more effective use of medical resources. At the same time we make sure that people's well-being is our main priority. First development, testing and documentation, then sales revenue in proportion to the value our products create.
